One-2-One is a transportation assistance program provided by RSVP & The Volunteer Center that serves Rutland County seniors aged 60 and over. Caring and compassionate volunteer drivers help individuals maintain their independence by providing transportation to essential services appointments such as medical and dental appointments.

The Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging (SVCOA) is actively involved with a number of programs that provide transportation to seniors in Rutland and Bennington Counties. If you are 60 and older or an individual with a disability and do not have Medicaid, call SVCOA at 800-642-5119 to see if you qualify for transportation through their elderly and disability program.

SVCOA launches free shopping service for older Vermonters
Southwestern Vermont Council on Aging (SVCOA) has launched a new grocery and supply shopping service to support older Vermonters in Bennington and Rutland counties during the COVID-19 issue.. The shopping service, which is supported by vetted SVCOA volunteers, is available to anyone age 60 or over, as well as eligible younger disabled individuals. If you or someone you know is interested in accessing the shopping service, or if you’re interested in volunteering, please call SVCOA at 802-786-5990 and ask to speak with Ellen Green.

Neighbor to Neighbor helps seniors in Southern Vermont remain independent and allows them to stay in their own homes.
They provide a variety of services at no-cost to residents of Arlington, Bondville, Danby, Dorset, Manchester, Pawlet, and Rupert
Services include:
- companionship & friendly visits
- monthly social events
- transportation
- gardening & other small jobs
- grocery shopping & errands

Bridges & Beyond ride services are provided by volunteers who have been trained and screened by the hospital. The Bridges & Beyond program offers transportation services to qualified patients living in Rutland County for the following:
- Doctor’s appointments
- Pharmacy visits
- Shopping & errands (based on availability)
While Bridges & Beyond tries to accommodate all requests, their ability to do so is limited by volunteer availability, and priority is given to medical appointments. For questions or registration, call 802-747-3710.
Medicaid Transportation
Marble Valley Regional Transit District offers a free Medicaid Transportation program for qualified Medicaid recipients. They work with those who need the service to authorize and arrange trips to medical, Reach-up and fair hearing appointments. Trips may be provided and reimbursed through fixed routes, volunteers or taxi—depending on which is least expensive. 24 hour notice is required for transportation within Rutland City and 48 hour notice for out of area transport.
